Looking for good quality sand ?

Welcome to Aragonites B.V.  Aragonites B.V. is an investment company under the van Houten group purely focused on processing quality sand and reactor media. The idea of processing sand and reactor media originates back to 2009 and got triggered again 10 years later in 2019. In May 2020 we registered the company and we took off from there. The first batches of Aragonite sand and Calcium reactor media are available from August 2020. 

Why sand ?

Sand and Calcium reactor media is a popular item to sell in the aquarium business. Over the years our sister company D. van Houten Import-Export B.V. sold tons and tons of sand and media. In the past years sand and reactor media is getting more and more difficult to get what they ordered. SInce the Covid-19 virus in March 2020 it got more and more clear that products from around the world are harder to receive on time or to receive at all without delays up to 10 weeks or more due to lockdowns. As we already had to tools in our hands, we started up the production in August 2020. The first items available are our Aragonite Natural Sand and the Calcium reactor media. Later on we will add Oolites, Real oolitic sand from the Bahamas.

Why jars ?

We pack our sand and Calcium reactor media in PET jars and not in bags like everyone else does. Studies has shown that people are more likely to re-use a larger jar compared to a bag. The bags used for packing sand are mostly made of multi layer non recyclable plastics. Next to that, it looks much better on the shelve in the store and are easier to ship.
